My journey as a sculptor began with the simplest material that we use in everyday life: Paper!

Paper is a versatile material full of poetry, strong and delicate, translucent and firm, smooth and structured, simple but also complicated. Giving a spirit to a paper sheet, and to transform it into a more precious work of art is a wonderful experience for an artist. Working with paper for me is the confrontation with a material whose reactions I cannot always foresee.

I mix other materials with paper. I play with it, I discover the vast possibilities of this simple material every day! My paper dreams become true, sometimes as life-size figurative sculptures, and sometimes as birds made of a simple sheet of white paper!

 

I am Yasmin Sinai, Sculptor and Artist from Iran. In the last 15 years I had 14 solo and many group exhibitions in- and outside of Iran. I have many workshops in which I teach my special technique to amateurs and professionals (mostly interior designers).

Last year I started a different kind of workshop where I am just working with plain white or black paper with cut and folding techniques, and the result is always a beautiful art installation. This workshops are in museums or

cultural places in Tehran, and everybody can participate and be a part of a beautiful experience. I‘m the founder of Suitcase Museum group, which is a mobile museum for children's and adult’s art. My little museum is very active at summertime with organising art camps. After many years of experience teaching art to children and giving art workshops for Faber Castell and other companies, I share my knowledge through seminars for art teachers in Tehran and other cities.
